I think they just gave up. If he was alive he would’ve turned up by now and there’s only so much money that they can spend looking for one person, even if he is a hero.

Funnily enough (or not under the circumstances) I had a discussion about him less than a month ago…..we couldn’t work out why he did not have a tracking system or more regimented search grid system in place.
